The Eugene Masonic Cemetery Association is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a Board of Directors, a Cemetery Administrator, a Landscape Manager, and a Groundskeeper. The cemetery retains “Masonic” in its name as an important historic reference, but is an independent, non-sectarian organization, no longer officially affiliated with the Masons.
The EMCA was created in 1993 with the cooperation of Masonic Lodge No. 11 and the City of Eugene to rescue and restore the cemetery, which had become derelict. Thoughtful planning, herculean group efforts and community support have transformed the cemetery into the urban treasure we have today.
